Early interest ...

I saw the light of day in 1969 in Heidelberg, Germany. The stories of mine according to my parents, I was only a few months old when I was already trying to sing the Beatles song "Come Together". With the roaring sounds that make their way passed through my little lips, I involuntarily caused a warm laugh among those present. In fact, one of the few image impressions that I can still remember of those early childhood days, is the

69 Beatles record cover from "Abbey Road". Maybe this moment laid the foundation for

my later love to music. My singing qualities have, however, since then nothing changed at that time :-)

The enthusiasm for pop, rock and colorful record covers never left me. I grew up between the mystical sounds of Pink Floyd, loved the voice of Joe Cocker, the singing guitar sound of Santana and Tina Turner's power tube. I was very impressed by the compositions of Elton John and also found that our German rocker Peter Maffay was

quite cool guy.

The hits of the 70s heroes caressed my ears and I was delighted every new record my parents brought home. So it was only a matter of time before I became interested in playing guitar. I wasn't long satisfied with a dummy cut out of cardboard, neither with the subsequent plastic children's guitar. When I was six years old, my parents finally gave me the first real concert guitar.

The first notes

The joy of my first guitar lessons suddenly ended when I was in the back room of a small music shop, facing a threatening teacher with ugly rabbit teeth. To my confusion, he was wearing a hat and a green hunting costume. My hope of learning popsongs

was gone with the first waltz sheet, that this eerie figure presented to me. For months

I struggled with folk songs, picked only single notes and didn't learn a single chord. Instead, this idiot hit me on the little fingers with his ballpoint pen for every wrong note, so that I looked at the lessons with horror every week. But that my fingers are a bit short and slightly crooked ist really not the fault of this terrible guy. When I was an adult,

I had to explain that these are innate to an American band colleague who asked me pityingly "Oh my god! Did you have an accident?" My parents of course redeemed me from the outdated teaching methods. But even the next teacher couldn't keep me on the line for more than four years. At some point I was just fed up with playing classic pieces. So it came about that I gave up playing guitar approximately at the age of ten.

The first band

The U-turn came at 15 when the appearance of our school band heavily impressed me.

At the moment the troop suddenly started a AC/DC coversong with a brutal volume,

I felt deep fascination, enthusiasm and envy at the same time. I was absolutely sure then: One day I'll be up there on stage as a "Guitar Hero"! No sooner said than done - two years later, in 1986, the time had come. Same school festival, same stage, but this time it was me who played the electric guitar proudly and timidly at the same time. With tender 17, milk face and my first student rock band that tried their own songs and emulated big names like Marillion or Genesis. I was at the goal and at the beginning at the same time, because from then on I started into exciting decades as a live musician.

I never took lessons again, the band practice should be my teacher in the future.

On stage...

I played in various formations, for example several years in a German rock band with own titles. Later in pop rock or funk & soul cover bands, always with great, sometimes professional fellow musicians. I myself lacked the courage to give up normal working life and to devote myself entirely to music. But I am grateful for the wonderful band and stage experiences I was able to collect. I enjoyed every performance. At big city festivals or in small clubs and bars. The feeling of being a band guitarist and standing on stage developed into a solid attitude towards life for me. The music, the guitar playing and the performance became a part of me that was indispensable.

My own songs

At the end of 2018, after more than 30 years as a live musician, there was an increasing desire to set own music to music. Letting my ideas out of my head, for me alone, independent of other musicians. Not only on the guitar, but also on the bass and Keyboard. All my musical currents flow here and I am happy about everyone who wants to follow them.
