Relaxing, groovy, mystical
Rock? Groovy? Mystical? Relaxing? I find it difficult to classify the style of my own instrumental music. There are elements from different directions. As different as the bands I've played in so far, my preferences in listening to music are different. I've always liked groovy basslines and rhythmically emphasized songs such as those found in soul, pop or funk. I am equally enthusiastic in listening to heavy rock or hard rock bands. Heavy metal of the 80s, art or progressive rock from the late 70s.
The main thing is: It should be "handmade"!
I could never do much with purely electronic music. I miss the dynamic, the feeling, the dexterity of the instrumentalists and the vocal power of brilliant singers. Which is not to say that I would not recognize the talent of DJs and sound creators, their creativity and skills. But purely digital does not live for me, it is too synthetic for me, without corners and edges. Fortunately, tastes are different.
And this is the only way to create remarkable songs and new styles.
In addition to my enthusiasm for groovy soul pop music, I feel that my true heart is beating for the mystical melancholic sounds. My instrumental songs are a reflection of these emotions. They arise spontaneously, out of the subconscious and lead sounds from different music worlds together.
On guitar, bass and synth sounds. This is Sven H. Ebert.
The settings bring out what I have absorbed in myself in interaction with other musicians. The years of playing in bands have an enormous impact because I always play along with the instruments of my bandmates, and I literally slip into them. I think being able to get excited about the skills of others is extremely important in order to play in a band-friendly manner and to be able to develop your own ideas. Also on other instruments such as the electric bass or the keyboard.
My love for nature, its mysticism and always my wish to fly has a strong influence on my music.
To take off into another dimension and to look down on the earth detached from there.
Fortunately, I was able to fulfill my dream of flying. If only for a few years, my experiences as an active glider and paraglider pilot were indescribably beautiful and exciting at the same time. Therefore, they continue to have an effect today. My inner satisfaction in nature, the thoughts of floating there and the music are connected in a certain way. This is how my song "little bird's first flight" was created, which expresses my feelings during my first solo flight.
No fretboard speeder
As a guitarist, I see my strengths in feeling and expression. Within my bands my motto "less is more" has always been appreciated. I never had the need to push myself to the fore ore to sweep away the band with brutal over loudness. I never belonged to the "secretly louder turners", luckily I already had this maturity even in my first school band. I'm not a virtuoso or a hyperfast fingerboard speeder.
I love to let the sound stand for itself and let it work. Probably this is one of the reasons why I like musicians such as Carlos Santana. Does he play fast? Does he play complicated things? He has what is important to me personally: His typical own sound, an enormous feeling, his unmistakable style and thus recognition value.
The collector...
Like many guitarists, I am under the urge to constantly want to own new guitars. Although I have found my dream instrument and my dream sound long ago. It is the shapes, the many beautiful colors and subtle differences in sound that seduce me. A lot of guitars already went through my hands. I found again and again that everything between Les Paul and Stratocaster is just a compromise. In my opinion, a guitarplayer needs nothing more than these two guitars. With them he can literally move the world. But I can reassure all guitar addicts - only this knowledge alone has not been able to free me from my collective madness
